We were all sitting around talking about our extended family and then my dad said something like, "well I just found out that my uncle murdered my grandpa."<br /> Holy Crap.<br /> My dad was visiting my granny for a couple days awhile back and she told him the story. I don't really know what happened but apparently in like 1924 my dad's uncle (my grandpa's sister's husband) and his father-in-law (my great-grandfather) were in the barn on their farm and got into a fight and the uncle killed my great grandpa. My grandpa was only 9 years old. He never talked about it but told my granny and she's just now telling her kids. Crazy. These are things you read about but don't think actually happen in real life or to people in your family.<br />So now I'm wondering what else there is to know about my family. I guess every family has their little secrets but that seems like one that would get talked about...<br /> A couple years ago we found out that my great grandma on my granny's side was Jewish but married a Polish guy who didn't like Jewish people so kept it a secret. Wow - I'm Jewish! We also found out that we have Metis blood somewhere along the line too. I wish things like that weren't kept secret until lately. These are things that we deserve to know - they're our history and heritage! I'm sure there's lots more that I'll never know but I'm trying my hardest to find stuff out now before all the info gets lost.<br /> Anyway - I'm back on Diclectin and am feeling lots better.<br />Not much else to say...
