I Love Spring!
Even though it's a bit dreary out there today - I love it. I love that almost all of the snow is gone and that I no longer have to wear a big winter jacket (even though I usually wore my lighter coat most of the time anyway). I can throw my cats out in the morning and not let them back in until the evening. I can have my windows open 24 hours a day. I can go for walks with my husband and not worry about getting my feet all wet and dirty. I love Spring!
I had a wonderful weekend at Kadesh, it is beautiful there! No wonder people like it better than Redberry! The lake is right there! You don't have to walk 5km to get to the beach! I finished my wedding scrapbook which feels wonderful. Tanis and I got to spend some sister time together and even got pedicures! She even made some cards and enjoyed it - she's not into scrapbooking. Plus I got to meet some people from Dalmeny that I'd never met before and visit with others that I hadn't really visited with before. We drove up with a lady named Carol who started helping me out at the library last year and who I consider a good friend. She's a bit older (in her sixties) and she is so awesome to be around. She makes me laugh all the time.
There's quite a few ladies that I've gotten to know through the library and our support group that I just love. They are all older than me and are wonderful to be around. I feel comfortable talking to them and feel like we can talk about anything. God has really blessed me with friends since moving back to Dalmeny. My neighbour Tiffany and I clicked the first time we got talking and it's really nice to know that we have neighbours to depend on and hang out with. Plus Zach and Trevor get along real well too (which is good cause Zach works for him) Just feeling really blessed these days...
When I got home on Sunday, Zach had done tons of work in the house and it is actually starting to feel like it's doable to get it organized and clean. He moved furniture around, vacuumed almost everywhere, cleaned the kitchen, got rid of tons of junk and moved our tv up to a different room. It was very nice to come home to. Plus I really missed him when I was gone. Working on our wedding scrapbook gave me all sorts of memories from when we first met and of how wonderful our wedding day was. I guess going away for a weekend can be really good for a marriage - makes you appreciate what you left behind. Plus I heard some stories about deadbeat dads and nasty husbands and it made me realize what a winner I have.
Another thing that God has been doing is giving me a peace about staying in our house. As much as I dislike it and it only having one bathroom, it really is a decent house and we are very blessed to have one. I was watching Oprah's "Debt Diet" on Friday and there was a man on there that said that owning a house is the best thing you can do for yourself financially. So even if we had to move in with my mom and dad and rent it out we would be better off than selling it because there is no way that we would qualify for another mortgage. So we are now considering keeping it and just working on it whenever we can afford it and to stay there as long as we can. At least we can start working on a nursery and I won't be left wondering if our baby will have it's own room or not.
SarahJane got home over the weekend and I haven't seen her yet but am very excited to hear all about her YWAM experience and to catch up. I know her and Wendy and Dane are planning on coming to help me with our house someday and I'm looking forward to that.
So, today I am feeling very blessed and fortunate for all the things and people that I have in my life. I have a roof over my head. Food to eat. A wonderful husband. Family close by. Great friends. And our baby is growing big inside me and kicking me all the time. Plus I only threw up once on the weekend:)
